1943 Curtiss Helldiver with Baileigh Bead Roller
Chuck is always braggin’ around his airplane buddies about the quality of his MSS-14H Shrinker Stretcher.  He sends us movies and pictures from time to time of the work his guys in the shop do. Chuck gave us a ring a couple weeks back looking for a bead roller. He was in the process of re-skinning a 1943 Curtiss Helldiver.

Not impressed with the standard bead rollers on the market, he went with our new heavy duty 16 gauge bead roller. The BR-16E-36 gave Chuck the throat depth, adjustability, and capacity he was looking for. (more…)

Scott Douglas edition TRAXXAS Slash

Surprise Visitor to Baileigh Industrial

Douglas MotorsportsOn Thursday June 23, 2011, Baileigh Industrial had a surprise visitor to its headquarters. Jackie Douglas, marketing director for Douglas Motorsports stopped by to show us the new 2011 Traxxas 2wd Slash, Scott Douglas Edition, which proudly displays the Baileigh Industrial logo. This marks the first time that Baileigh Industrial logo has been prominently displayed on what would be considered mass marketed products not produced by Baileigh Industrial.

Douglas Motorsports used many of the metal working machines that Baileigh Industrial sells, including the BSV-24 vertical band saw, and the BB-4812 box and pan brake. These machines help that to produce some of the fastest trucks on the TORQ® off road racing series.

We want to thank Jackie, Scott, and the rest of the Douglas Motorsports team, as they are a great asset in promoting to Baileigh Industrial. Good Luck the rest of the season.

Need A Faster Way to Shape Metal?

Ace Clearwater and the Baileigh Shrinker Stretcher MSS-14H

Ace Clearwater www.aceclearwater.com has been building complex formed and welded assemblies for the aerospace industry since 1949. With 350,000 square feet of manufacturing space, they have a full fabrication shop with just about every type of machine you can imagine.

Chris McKee (production Manager) contacted Baileigh Industrial a couple months ago looking for a faster way to shape metal. He had a bottle neck in his manufacturing process and was looking for a solution. After talking with one of the many metal shaping experts here at Baileigh and reviewing Chris’ application, the MSS-14H Shrinker Stretcher looked like the ticket.

With the MSS-14H in the shop, Chris’ team has increased production x 4. Jerry (pictured below) is looking forward to becoming an internet metal shaping sensation. Read below:

Here is what Chris had to say about their new MSS-14H Shrinker Stretcher

We’re good to go with the release of pictures – this is our operator Jerry in real action. Things are working out great with the new stretching machine! Our throughput (in this process) has increased X4 with the use of the Baileigh Sheet Metal Shrinker Stetcher device and machine reliability is  100%. Let me know when these pics hit your web pages and I’ll tell Jerry that he’s become an internet sensation.

Drill Presses

Starting out my career at a fairly young age as a machinist in a local converting equipment manufacturer, I quickly learned to appreciate quality tools such as metal turning lathes, milling machines, band saws, press brakes, drill presses and much more.

One of the summer jobs I had was drilling and tapping holes using a fine drill press made in Northern Europe. It quickly earned my respect as being a well built piece of machinery and when it came time several decades later to put our name on a machine we wanted similar positive design qualities with many modern day improvements implemented into our Baileigh Industrial metal drill presses.
