The PL-1236E-DRO is a great metal lathe for anyone that is looking an economical lathe that is high in quality and features.  Like all Baileigh lathes, the PL-1236E-DRO gear head metal lathe has an integrated gear system that allows for taping, turning, and polishing with a range of speeds from 70 to 1400 RPM.  This is the same exact metal lathe as the PL-1236E, but integrates a DRO (Digital Read Out) to make this entry level metal lathe even easier to use.

The Baileigh PL-1236E-DRO shop lathe is powered by a 110/220v dual voltage system that allows the operator to choose what voltage will suit their needs the best.  Because of its versatile voltage options the PL-1236E-DRO is the perfect choice for small fabricators, schools, or garages.

As far as entry level metal lathes go, this one has all the features of the more expensive models. Features include, digital read out, three and four jaw chucks, steady rest, follow rest, face plate, live center, foot brake, coolant system, and halogen work light.  All ways are ground and hardened to ensure long life.
